Desired Candidate Profile

The Faculty of Computer Studies (FCS) at Arab Open University, Oman is looking for candidates (preferably Omani Nationals), who are passionate about teaching, research, Industry, and community engagement, to work as an Associate, Assistant Professor / Lecturer.

1- Associate Professor:

Person Specifications

The ideal candidate must:

• Hold a Ph.D. degree in Cybersecurity, with both master s and bachelor s degrees in the same field (Cybersecurity and Network Security).
• Ensure that any qualification obtained from an institution outside the Sultanate of Oman is equivalently certified by the competent authority in the Sultanate of Oman.
• Preference will be given to candidates who can teach general Computer Science, along with Cybersecurity and Network Security courses.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have a strong mathematical background.
• Hold membership in any of the professional association or bodies in the field of Cybersecurity (Preferable, not mandatory.)
• Have good number of research publications in his/her credit in reputable Scopus journals.
• Have Experience in applying and receiving external research funds.
• Have Minimum Five years (Ten academic semesters) of teaching experience at the university/college level after PhD.
• Be capable of carrying out tasks that are Quality Assurance related.
• Priority will be given to Omani nationals

2- Assistant Professor:

• Preference will be given to candidates who can teach general Computer Science, along with Artificial Intelligence courses.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have a strong mathematical background.
• Hold membership in any of the professional association or bodies in the field of Cybersecurity (Preferable, not mandatory.)
