Position

HBKU is seeking applications for the position of Associate Professor. The successful candidate will conduct teaching, research, and service to contribute to HBKU s mission of becoming a world-class research university, and collaborate with faculty members and students to create a vibrant university community that will positively impact and contribute to the development of Qatar and the region by advancing knowledge in their field and developing human capacity through their teaching.

• Conduct assigned courses or seminars to contribute to student learning.
• Supervise independent study activities and serve as an academic advisor to students.
• Participate in and chair university and college committees.
• Conduct and publish research in the field of specialization, seek external research funding, and supervise graduate theses and research projects.
• Participate in curriculum development and render service to the professional or lay community relevant to the academic specialty.
• Disseminate key research findings through publications, conferences, and scholarly presentations to enhance HBKU s reputation.
• Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by the dean or the University.

• Ph.D. or terminal degree from an accredited university in public policy, evaluation, or a related field.
• 6-8 years of relevant full-time university teaching and research experience with evidence of increasing professional maturity and productivity.
• Demonstrated proficiency in teaching, student supervision, curriculum, and program development.
• Research and scholarly achievements commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor at a major research university.
• Evidence of participation in the scholarly and academic affairs of a university or appropriate professional society.
• Growing portfolio of scholarly endeavors (funded research grants, publications, intellectual property/patents) comparable to peers at leading research universities.
• Evidence of an increasing regional and international reputation within the scholarly discipline.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, cultures, and communities.
• Demonstrated participation in developing networks and collaborations within HBKU and with partner institutions in both teaching and research activities.
• A track record of engaging and collaborating with policy stakeholders at national and international levels.
• Arabic language is an advantage.
