Roles & Responsibilities

Job Overview:

The Associate Professor will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality academic programs, research activities, and administrative tasks within the University. The holder of this position is expected to have expertise in a specialized area and possess excellent academic credentials. The responsibilities of the Associate Professor include research, teaching and learning, academic leadership, and community engagement. The Associate Professor will be expected to be committed to high-quality teaching and scholarly pursuits.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and deliver lectures and course materials for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students
  • Serve as a principal investigator or leading research team
  • Generate research outputs that meet or exceed national standards and aim to establish an international profile
  • Perform other enterprise and innovation tasks as directed by the College Dean
  • Supervise graduate and undergraduate students and researchers
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the College Dean

General Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. degree from a recognized university in a relevant academic discipline
  • 5 Years of teaching experience at the college or university level
  • Master s and bachelor s degrees in the related field
  • The ability to speak and write fluently in Arabic and English
  • Substantial research output of national and/or international recognition
  • Proven academic and research excellence in their field of expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, observational, and problem-solving skills
  • A good record of attending conferences and academic events.
  • Excellent research, writing, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to engage with a range of professionals and students
  • Priority for Omanis

Desired Candidate Profile
