The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University is seeking a dynamic and innovative academic for the Associate Professor in Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology position. The ideal candidate will be an experienced academic with a strong background in educational technology, learning design, and innovative teaching methodologies, particularly within a comparative education framework with an Islamic civilizational worldview.

• Design and deliver high-quality teaching in Learning Design, Educational Technology, and Innovation for graduate and postgraduate students in the Comparative Education programs.
• Develop and implement research-based, innovative, and effective teaching strategies that incorporate Islamic and global educational approaches.
• Contribute to curriculum design and enhancement in the M.A. in Comparative Education program.
• Conduct and publish high-impact research in the fields of educational technology, learning design, and comparative education.
• Supervise BA, M.A., and PhD theses and contribute to building a research culture within the College of Islamic Studies.
• Engage in interdisciplinary research projects that integrate Islamic and global perspectives on education.
• Lead initiatives to advance the use of technology and innovative learning strategies within the College.
• Collaborate with colleagues within the College of Islamic Studies and across HBKU to creatively promote technology integration in educational practices.
• Establish partnerships with educational institutions and industry to enhance the impact of the program and facilitate practical learning experiences for students.
• Participate in administrative roles within the College, including serving on committees and contributing to the development of academic policies and programs.
• Engage with the wider educational community in Qatar and internationally, promoting the program and its unique approach to comparative education.

• A Ph.D. in Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching and curriculum development, particularly in learning design and technology.
• A strong record of research and publication in areas related to educational innovation, technology, and comparative education.
• Experience in integrating Islamic worldview into educational practices is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural academic environment.
• Experience in Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology.
• Proficiency in Arabic is an asset, but not required.
