Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Teach epidemiology and public health courses at the undergraduate, MPH, and PhD levels.
- Lead research projects and contribute to national and international collaborations.
- Supervise MSc, MPH, and PhD theses, and mentor junior faculty and postdoctoral researchers.
- Conduct independent, high-impact epidemiologic research aligned with institutional and national priorities.
- Develop advanced methodologies for population health, disease surveillance, causal inference, and public health analytics.
- Publish in high-impact journals and participate in grant writing and funded research initiatives.
- Contribute to curriculum development, accreditation, and academic governance.
- Support community engagement, professional training, and capacity-building initiatives.
- Participate in departmental.
Desired Candidate Profile
PhD in Epidemiology or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 7 years of academic experience post-PhD, with evidence supporting appointment at the Associate Professor rank.
- Strong publication record in Q1 journals, with demonstrated leadership in epidemiologic research.
- Experience in designing and leading large-scale epidemiologic studies, surveillance systems, or health assessments.
- Proficiency in epidemiologic software and statistical packages (R, STATA, SAS, Python).
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, supervision, and mentorship at graduate levels.
- Experience collaborating with national health authorities, research centers, or healthcare systems.
- Track record of securing competitive grants and leading funded public health projects.
- Expertise in digital health, real-time surveillance, or advanced epidemiologic modeling.
- Experience contributing to the development of MPH, PhD, or professional training programs.
- Experience in academic leadership roles (program director, committee chair, research lead).
- Qualification from the western accredited universities will be preferred.
