Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of power system protection, protective relays and their applications, settings, and testing

2. Assist teams that support customers with the design, installation, commissioning and operation of protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.

3. Complete assigned work using established procedures and working under immediate supervision.

4. Complete assigned work within agreed upon scope, schedule and budget while focusing on quality and safety.

5. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

6. Understand. Create. Simplify.

7. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/b> br> br>B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant disciplinebr> br>Self-motivated with continuous desire to learn and find solutionsbr> br>Willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 25% based on focus area.br> br>Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skillsbr> br>Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilitiesbr> br>Ability to work cooperatively in a team environmentbr> br>Background check results satisfactory to SELbr> br>Negative drug test result(s)br> br> Preferred Qualifications/b> br> br>College coursework in electric power and/or controls (power system protection, symmetrical components, programming, control systems)br> br>Engineer in Training (EIT) certificatebr> br>Work experience in electric utilities, industrial plants, communications, computer programming, or construction
