Associate Quantity Surveyor
Qatar
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Associate Quantity Surveyor to join our team! In this role, you will support cost and quantity-related activities across engineering and construction projects, including measurement, cost estimating, and tender support, helping to ensure accurate, compliant, and competitive commercial submissions. You will work closely with senior team members and multidisciplinary project teams, contributing to the commercial aspects of live projects while building a solid foundation in cost management and project delivery.
What You ll Be Doing
- Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates for engineering and construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs.
- Reviewing project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to understand project scope and quantify works.
- Supporting the development of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost breakdowns, and measurement sheets for various project components.
- Collaborating with senior quantity surveyors/estimators and project teams to gather data and support accurate cost projections.
- Conducting basic market research to obtain pricing information for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Assisting in the preparation of tender documents and proposals for submission to clients.
- Maintaining and updating cost databases, historical cost records, and standard estimating/measurement tools.
- Performing basic quality checks on quantities and estimates to support accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
- Providing general administrative and technical support to the commercial/estimating team as needed.
What Required Skills You ll Bring
- Bachelor s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Cost Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Basic understanding of cost estimation, quantity measurement, and construction processes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
