Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Tasks:
Develop a research plan in conjunction with the private markets team and in support of pipeline development, investor engagement and fund concept development.
Conduct research on various topics inline with Tanmia s market outreach plans.
Sector deep-dives (growth rates, multiples, exit activity).
Conduct and update competitive maps of existing Private Equity transaction and funds (ticket sizes, IRR targets, sector/geography).
Map market trends (e.g. Secular trends, FDI inflows, funding gaps) and translate into actionable insights.
Identify underserved segments or capital mismatches.
Build relationships and maintain those with relevant data providers (NCSI, regional data providers, data platforms, ministries .. etc).
Source data internally from deal transactions and from external sources.
Build solid and fact-based insights from the market analysis and package as a complete publish worthy report.
Support fund structuring and product development through comparative benchmarking (regional fund terms, structures, regulatory models, etc.).
Analyze investor sentiment, fundraising trends, and LP appetite in GCC and global markets.
Collaborate with internal teams to build investment themes documents, teasers, and presentations for prospective investors.
Support the creation of thought-leadership materials (sector outlooks, insights reports, etc.)
Maintain a knowledge database of transactions, multiples, and market benchmarks.
Technical and Soft Skills:
Strong understanding and experience in sourcing and turning data into actionable insights.
Strong ability in developing private equity relevant market research.
Sound business judgment, problem solving and commercial instincts.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Strong Project management skills.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Strong presentation and storytelling capability to translate research into investor-ready narratives.
Ability to pay attention to details.
Highly motivated and strong work ethics.
Experience / Knowledge :
Minimum 5-7 years of experience within an investment bank, advisory firm or private equity firm is essential.
Experience in fund and market research, market mapping, gap analysis, and thematic research amongst other things.
Desired Candidate Profile
The role is primarily responsible for conducting research to support the business development team within Tanmia. The role encompasses both macro and micro economic research into industry, sectors and general social and economic trends. The role forms a key part of Tanmia s sourcing and fund development cycle. It is expected to generate leads for future investment themes and investment products offerings.
Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Economics is required.
Master s Degree in Finance, CFA or relevant professional certification is preferred.
