Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • PLC–HMI Programming,
  • Develop and modify PLC programs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct, etc.) based on project requirements.
  • Design and configure HMI and SCADA systems for process visualization and operator control.
  • Troubleshoot and debug PLC programs and control system wiring during commissioning and maintenance.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and system design drawings.
  • Collaborate with electrical designers, panel builders, and project engineers to ensure system integration.
  • Perform on-site testing, commissioning, and support during start-up.
  • Document revisions, configuration settings, and operational procedures in line with the documentation requirements of the company.
  • Assist with project estimation, control system architecture, and component selection
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
  • Follow necessary safety regulations, applicable work instructions, operating procedures, method statement etc. as required, in carrying out the jobs.
  • Report and document the activities carried out Ensure compliance with all applicable standards, Company Quality (ISO) procedures and provide reports to the QHSE department of any non-conformance issues.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text, etc.)
  • Familiarity with HMI/SCADA platforms (e.g., C-More, FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Ignition).
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, CAN bus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematics.
  • Willingness to travel offshore for site commissioning and support.
  • Attention to details and analytical thinking.
  • Versatility and willingness to learn new methods and products to suit challenging technology and workshop demands.
  • Ability to communicate knowledgeably and professionally with clients, suppliers, and company personnel. Also, can plan, schedule, and prioritize activities.
  • Familiarity with IEC, RINA, ABS and DNV standards is a plus
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic components is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Automation systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D or 3D is a plus.
  • Experience in marine, oil & gas, or process automation is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field, providing a strong foundation in control systems.
  • Holds relevant certifications, such as Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or PLC certifications, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
