Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily safety walk-arounds of hangar, flight line, wash rack, and support areas.
- Identify, document, and track hazards through HAZLOG and Safety Observation systems.
- Support compliance with DCMA 8210.1C and company F/GOP.
- Monitor tool control, FOD prevention, and housekeeping practices.
- Assist in the preparation and updates of Aviation Safety Council (ASC) presentations.
- Track and report safety trends, including FOD, facility hazards, and environmental risks.
- Coordinate with RSLFAC and internal leadership on hazard mitigation and corrective actions.
- Support safety audits, inspections, and program reviews.
- Provide real-time safety oversight during maintenance and ground operations.
- Assist with the implementation of safety initiatives and improvements across the site.
- Act as Aviation Safety Officer (Alternate) in the absence of the primary ASO.
- This position operates with a significant degree of autonomy, making decisions related to daily safety observations and manage all risks within the program.
- The ASO must be able to independently solve problems, manage resources, and ensure operational continuity.
Desired Candidate Profile
+ Bachelor s degree in Avition Safety field desired.
+ Desired technical experience directly related to safety management support functions.
+ Strong knowledge in risk management, process optimization, and incident investigation.
+ Ability to lead and drive improvements in organizational safety records.
+ Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to foster a safety-focused culture.
+ Ability to develop and implement safety programs and procedures.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
+ Passionate about enhancing the safety and well-being of the workforce and the environment.
+ Proficient in standard business office software.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background screening.
+ Must possess a valid state driver's license.
+ Graduate from the Aviation Safety course or equivalent desired.
+ Experience with aviation safety in a working environment.
+ Graduate from the Aviation Safety course or equivalent desired.
+ Bachelor s degree in aviation safety is desired.
