� Job Title: Principal / Staff Back-End Engineer (System Architecture & Infrastructure Lead)

We are looking for an exceptional Back-End Engineer — not just a developer, but a technical leader who can architect, build, scale, and own mission-critical backend systems from zero to production at scale.

This role is for someone who thinks like a CTO, designs like a system architect, and executes like a senior engineer.

� Role Overview

You will be responsible for:

• Architecting and building highly scalable backend systems.

• Defining engineering standards and backend best practices.

• Owning infrastructure, CI/CD, deployment, and production reliability.

• Designing systems that can scale to hundreds of thousands or millions of users.

• Providing technical leadership without micromanagement.

� Core Responsibilities

1️⃣ System Architecture & Design

• Design scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available systems.

• Architect microservices or modular monoliths based on business needs.

• Design optimized relational and non-relational database schemas.

• Implement:

  • Load balancing strategies

  • Caching layers (Redis or equivalent)

  • Message brokers (Kafka / RabbitMQ)

  • Event-driven architectures

  • Distributed systems patterns

• Design clean, versioned APIs (REST / GraphQL).

2️⃣ Performance & Scalability

• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in production systems.

• Design systems for high throughput and low latency.

• Implement horizontal and vertical scaling strategies.

• Optimize database queries, indexing, and replication.

• Ensure high availability and minimal downtime.

3️⃣ DevOps & Infrastructure Ownership

• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI).

• Containerization using Docker.

• Orchestrate deployments with Kubernetes.

• Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure).

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).

• Implement monitoring & observability:

  • Prometheus

  • Grafana

  • ELK stack

• Implement zero-downtime deployments.

• Manage secrets and environment security.

4️⃣ Security & Reliability

• Apply OWASP security best practices.

• Implement authentication & authorization (JWT, OAuth2).

• Apply rate limiting and abuse protection.

• Encrypt data at rest and in transit.

• Design backup and disaster recovery strategies.

• Eliminate single points of failure.

5️⃣ Technical Leadership

• Lead code reviews at an architectural level.

• Define backend coding standards and guidelines.

• Mentor engineers and raise technical quality.

• Estimate technical scope and plan backend roadmap.

• Make architecture decisions aligned with long-term scalability.
