Backend Software Engineer II

As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for translating user stories and business requirements into reliable, high-quality backend services. You will be expected to work with minimal supervision on assigned features, contribute to technical discussions, and actively participate in improving our engineering practices. This role is a vital step toward becoming a senior expert.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust, scalable, and maintainable backend services and features in collaboration with senior engineers.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following established best practices, coding standards, and security protocols.
• Collaborate closely with Front-End Engineers to define and implement efficient RESTful APIs and ensure seamless system integration.
• Manage and maintain databases (SQL and NoSQL), including schema design, migration, and query optimization.
• Debug and troubleshoot production issues across the system, working quickly to identify root causes and implement fixes.
• Actively participate in code reviews and technical discussions, offering constructive feedback and learning from teammates.
• Contribute to system performance tuning and monitoring efforts under the guidance of senior engineers.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Proficiency in a major backend language such as Java, Python, Go, or similar.
• Solid working experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and experience with NoSQL solutions.
• Demonstrated experience designing and working with RESTful APIs and understanding API design principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure (experience with core services is required).
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with microservices architecture and scalability concepts.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker).
• Practical experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools.
