Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems onboard the barge, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on engines, generators, and auxiliary equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues, utilizing diagnostic tools and technical expertise to resolve problems swiftly.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance, ensuring accurate documentation for regulatory compliance and operational analysis.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of sea-going experience, with at least 2 years in a barge engineering role.

  • Demonstrates expertise in the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, generators, and associated equipment.

  • Barge Engineer License and Ballast Control Certificate.
