Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
u>Safety & Compliance Duties:/u>
- Leads by example and demonstrates safety leadership by consistently aligning their behaviour with the ADES Way and Code of Conduct.
- Ensure compliance with all ADES management procedures and Controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality service and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Commitment not to engage in unsafe actions and to use Time Out for Safety (TOFS) when needed to prevent incidents by actively participating in the "SHIELD" Program. Any incidents must be reported to the supervisor immediately.
- Participate in the activities to improve HSE aspects of the operation such as HSE Meetings, weekly and pre-tour meetings, Emergency Drills, and Health & Safety plan implementation.
- Understand responsibilities and authority levels documented in the Health, Safety and Environment Policies and Requirements Manual.
- Ensure that all activities, including those of third-party contractors, are conducted using safe working practices.
- Follow his role on abandon ship, firefighting, injured personal, emergency & lifesaving situations, as per the station bill.
- Responsible for maintaining the condition and certification of all firefighting and lifesaving equipment.
Rig Move & Related activities:
- Supervises and arranges for the preparation of Rig Move, stability calculations for jacking, floating, and preloading, ensuring compliancebr> with Rig Move preparation checklists.
- Observation of weather forecast for rig move window including preload hours.
- Review of Soil condition reports for location for anticipation of expected penetration.
- Ensure the jacking system & motors have planned maintenance completed up to date and are ready for operation.
- The drilling package and cantilever are secured per the rig s operation manual.
- Cranes and loose items are secured in accordance with the best seamanship practices while securing watertight doors/hatches during the rig move.

- Mooring winches are maintained up to date and ready for operation.
- Arrange and participate in rig move meetings.
- Maintains records of associated documents/files and moves history to ensure that full and accurate records are kept.
- Watertight integrity checks.
Stability:
- Assures daily accurate rig loading, leg reactions, supplies of fuel/water and centers of gravity are kept within the design limits for the safe operation of the unit.
- Calculate the daily load criteria to ensure the installation satisfies the operation and stability requirements.
- During loading ensures that deck loading is within the loading criteria in accordance with rig design and operation manual.
Lifting Operations:
- Supervises and directs loading/unloading and movement of all cargo including supervising & planning for crane critical, complex lifting operations and personnel transfer, onboard and outboard the unit.
- Direct deck crew to move/load/unload critical items considering the unit load distribution calculations to ensure security of the lifted items & personnel.
Drilling / Work-over Operations:
- Liaise and co-operate with the drilling crew to ensure safe and smooth running of operations. Assign crew members to work in drilling operations as required.
Management of Major Emergencies:
- To be part of the Rig s Emergency Response Team as detailed in the Emergency Plan and in Company Procedures.
- Ensure that all personnel are instructed in the applicable procedures in the case of an emergency.
- Ensure that Well Control and general safety drills are held and recorded in accordance with Company and Regulatory requirements.
Inspections & Certifications:
- Prepares and participates in various inspection and survey activities in accordance with Class and statutory requirements and any other local/country/authority or regulatory body surveys.
- Maintain the unit s statutory certification and records as required by Class and Flag or any other mandatory regulations, STCW convention issued by IMO etc. or any other local country/authority regulatory body.
Materials & Equipment:
- Monitors all preventive maintenance activity for marine, helideck, navigation, firefighting, lifesaving equipment onboard the unit and ensure the timely execution of such maintenance and ensure that all lifting equipment are certified and kept in good working condition.
- Liaises with the OIM and Maintenance Department to ensure incorporation of maintenance/repairs, Class, and other audits outstanding recommendations works.
- Prepares hull and tank painting annual plans and reviews completion quarterly.
Helicopter Operations:
- Ensures that the Helicopter operations occurred safely & according to the aviation authorities, standards & regulations and maintain valid certification for the helideck.
Housekeeping:
- Ensure that the work areas are clean and orderly prepared, free of hazards prior to & upon completion of the work, task, or repairs by the deck crew.
- Direct the dispose of the debris as per the company hazardous material segregations policy / waste management policy taking into consideration the environmental & safety impacts.
People Management & Development:
- Provide clear instructions to their team regarding their duties, responsibilities, and any necessary safety precautions prior to commencing work.
- Mentor, develop and train their team to ensure safe and effective operations.
- Identifies opportunities for skill and career advancement, works to support the professional growth of their team.
- Ensure their team receives the necessary required training to perform their duties safely and effectively through on-the-job training, classroom training, and participation in safety drills and exercises.
- Evaluates the performance of their team on constant and fair feedback basis, identify areas for improvement, drive ADVANCE process to formalize a performance management culture.
Desired Candidate Profile
u>Job Requirements:/u>
Education & Experience:
- BSC in Marine Engineering or equivalent Maritime Academy Certificate of Competency (COC) from Maritime Academy.
- At least 6 years of related experience, preferably working on offshore installations the same as those owned or operated by the Company.
Skills/Competencies Required:
- English Reading & writing: intermediate level is preferred.
- Advanced Mathematical skills.
- Stability calculations.
- Situation Awareness / self-motivation, Teamwork, Time management / Managing work.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally climbing (stairs, ladders) & walking.
- Ability to work on day/night shifts.
Certifications:
- As per ADES Training Matrix.
- A Valid Certificate of Competency from Maritime Academy is a MUST for Self-propelled units.
