Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Operate and manage the barge safely and efficiently.
Navigate the vessel in accordance with maritime regulations and company procedures.
Supervise and coordinate barge crew activities and ensure effective teamwork onboard.
Oversee cargo handling operations and ensure proper loading/unloading practices.
Ensure the barge, machinery, and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
Identify, report, and where possible, troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of the vessel at all times.
Keep accurate records and logs related to:Cargo,Fuel consumption,Vessel movements and journeys &Maintenance activities
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Communicate effectively with management, marine operations teams, and crew members.
Respond appropriately during emergency situations and ensure safety procedures are followed.
Desired Candidate Profile
Key Aspects of STCW II/5 (Able Seafarer Deck):
Role: Advanced deck rating (Support Level).
Requirements: Minimum age 18, 18 months seagoing service, and completion of STCW training.
Competence: Covered in Table A-II/5, focusing on navigation, cargo handling, and ship operations.
With regards to the Engineer STCW III/3 certificate is required
Key Aspects of STCW III/3 (Management Level Engineering):
Role: Second engineer officer on ships with power \(\ge \) 750 kW but < 3,000 kW.
Focus: Management-level responsibilities, electrical/control engineering, and maintenance.
Handling technical ship operations.
