Job Purpose

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages while providing excellent customer service. The role ensures a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment and maintains compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks.

• Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other beverage preparation equipment.

• Ensure consistency in beverage quality, taste, and presentation.

• Follow standard recipes and portion control guidelines.

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.

• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.

• Recommend menu items and respond to customer inquiries.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area, equipment, and utensils.

• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.

• Ensure proper storage and handling of food and beverage products.

• Follow company policies and HACCP requirements where applicable.

• Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, and other supplies.

• Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating stock using FIFO principles.

• Process customer payments and operate the POS system when required.

• Maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
