Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Participates in the establishment of regulated digital environments for the acquisition, storage, integration and mining of scientific data.

2. Participates in developing purpose-built integrated biological databases, novel software and algorithms to facilitate scientific investigation.

3. Uses existing databases and analytical tools for discovery and/or validation of biological processes to meet specific scientific project needs.

4. Supports development and maintenance of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for efficient sample tracking, data acquisition, data storage and dissemination.

5. Participates in testing new and updated bioinformatics tools and software.

6. Consults with researchers to analyse problems, recommend technology-based solutions, or determine computational strategies.

7. Analyses, interprets and communicates research results through conference presentations, scientific publications, or project reports.

8. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.

9. Participates in self and others education, training and development as applicable.

10. Performs any other related duties as assigned.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree, or Doctor of Science (DSc) Degree from an accredited institution in a scientific discipline relevant to the research field is required.

Experience Required

  • Six (6) years of directly related experience post-doctoral degree required.
