Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Assumes 24-hour responsibility for the management and operations of the Biomedical Engineering section of Support Services of the American Hospital Dubai during the absence of the Senior Biomedical Engineer.
Executes the planning of new projects and expansion of existing services.
Attends On-call duties after working hours in case of emergency.
Receives, installs, documents, and handovers the demos/backup units from the vendors to end users.
Performs medical equipment maintenance requests from Service Requisition Software (iService) is needed throughout the hospital.
Tests all the hospital medical equipment.
Answers to any medical equipment maintenance request needed throughout the hospital.
Ensures the compliance of all medical equipment with the hospital’s preventive and corrective maintenance policy.
Prepares and performs the training, demonstrations, and in-services for designated users.
Implements and complies with the department’s standards, policies, procedures and protocols as they relate to Biomedical Engineering Services.
Secures a safe environment by implementing best practices and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) scheduling to Emergency Care Research Institute (ECRI)/Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) and other industry standards.
Ensures optimal efficiency and continuous safe practices.
Participates in ongoing educational activities related to Biomedical Engineering.
Ensures the compliance of all medical equipment with the hospital’s preventive and corrective maintenance policy.
Answers to any medical equipment maintenance request needed throughout the hospital.
Desired Candidate Profile
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics or equivalent
UAE Driver's license preferred
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in maintenance and management of medical equipment preferably in the healthcare environment
Knowledge of current regulatory and safety requirements
Ability to write and speak in English language
