Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Conduct surface preparation using blasting equipment and techniques to remove rust, scale, or paint.
  • Apply primers and protective coatings to surfaces as specified by project requirements.
  • Inspect surfaces for imperfections or contaminants before and after blasting and painting.
  • Set up and maintain blasting equipment and painting tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Mix paints and coatings according to specifications to achieve desired finish and protective qualities.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Coordinate with project managers and team members to meet project timelines and quality standards.
  • Document work performed, including materials used and techniques applied, for project records.
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure longevity and efficiency.
  • Assist with the cleanup and proper disposal of hazardous materials as per regulations.
  • Stay updated on new blasting and painting techniques and equipment advancements.
  • Train and mentor junior blaster painters or apprentices as needed to develop team skills.
