Roles & Responsibilities

Location: Remote Employment Type: Part Time Experience Required: Minimum 10 years Language: English (Arabic an added advantage)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a senior Board Advisor – Fundraising & Strategic Investments to support a diversified conglomerate operating across hospitality, services, oil & gas, and security services in Yemen.

The advisor will work closely with the Board and Investment Committee, contributing to capital raising initiatives, strategic direction, and external representation, while also providing high-level guidance on investment feasibility and expansion decisions. This is a part-time, strategic role focused on value creation rather than day-to-day execution.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Capital Advisory

  • Lead and support fundraising initiatives (equity, debt, strategic investors, and partnerships)

  • Identify and introduce potential investors, financial institutions, and strategic partners

  • Advise on transaction structuring, term sheets, and investment negotiations

Board & Strategic Advisory

  • Participate in board and investment committee meetings as a strategic advisor

  • Provide guidance on portfolio strategy, growth priorities, and risk management

  • Support decision-making on new investments, acquisitions, and expansions

    Investment & Feasibility Oversight

  • Review and guide feasibility studies, market assessments, and investment evaluations

  • Oversee financial and business models to assess returns, risks, and capital efficiency

  • Advise on funding structures, joint ventures, and capital optimization strategies

    Representation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent the group with investors, partners, and external stakeholders when required

  • Support relationship management with regional and international counterparties

  • Strengthen the group’s credibility with institutional and private investors

    Market & Risk Insight

  • Advise on market trends, regulatory developments, and operating risks in Yemen and comparable frontier markets

  • Support governance, compliance, and best-practice investment framework.

Desired Candidate Profile

o Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field

o Minimum 10+ years of senior experience in investment advisory, corporate finance, private equity, infrastructure, or strategic consulting

o Demonstrated fundraising and capital raising experience, including investor engagement

o Experience operating in emerging or frontier markets; Middle East experience preferred o Strong financial analysis, valuation, and strategic assessment skills

o Ability to operate effectively at board and senior leadership level

o Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

o Fluency in English required; Arabic proficiency is a strong advantage

o Ability to work independently in a remote, advisory capacity

Engagement & Compensation o Part-time advisory engagement o Compensation to be structured through a combination of: o Retainer o Success-based fundraising fees o Potential equity or board-level incentives (to be mutually agreed)
