Job Description:

The broker acts as a bridge between their client and the customs services. They manage all administrative documents and procedures necessary for the client to ensure that goods cross the border smoothly.

The broker :

  • Updates the necessary administrative documents that will allow it to import or export goods.

  • Plays the role of intermediary between the transit service, the rest of our company's departments and customs.

  • Verifies that he has at his disposal all the required documents deemed essential by the customs authorities (reason for transport, contents, origin, weight of goods, affixing of special markings, etc.)

When goods are cleared through customs, he submits the file with all supporting documents to the customs service and ensures that the procedure runs smoothly.

In certain situations, and especially when customs requests it, the broker carries out the physical inspection of the goods himself by contacting customer service.

The broker works in import-export. He must be diplomatic with government agencies and have significant resilience to delays.

Main missions

  • Participating in the analysis of contractual acts

  • Check the parts provided by the customer

  • Ensure compliance with customs formalities for export and import

  • Ensure the completion of customs formalities

  • Ensure the smooth running of the customs clearance procedure

  • To act as the interface between the transit service, customer service, and customs

  • Keeping abreast of changes in various regulations

  • Providing advice to clients on current regulations

  • Mastering the legislation in force in one's sector of activity

  • Mastering customs procedures

  • Understanding the environment related to international trade

  • Possessing skills in tax law

  • Mastering transit techniques (import-export)

  • Possessing management and supervisory skills

  • Mastering the use of the BADR system, Portnet, ADIL, incoterms, etc.

  • Mastering French and English
