Job Role: Busbar Bending Machine Operator

Job Summary

The Busbar Bending Machine Operator is responsible for operating, setting, and maintaining busbar cutting, punching, and bending machines to produce busbar components as per engineering drawings and production schedules. The role requires technical knowledge, precision, safety awareness, and hands-on experience in busbar fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation

• Operate CNC/automatic/manual busbar bending machines.
• Set machine parameters such as angle, length, radius, and bending force.
• Load and unload copper/aluminum busbars safely.
• Ensure accurate bending as per drawings and tolerances.
• Operate auxiliary machines: cutting, punching, embossing, and drilling when required.

2. Production & Quality

• Interpret technical drawings, sketches, and busbar layout diagrams.
• Measure dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes.
• Inspect finished busbars for accuracy, alignment, and surface quality.
• Reduce material waste through careful planning and precision bending.
• Report any non-conformance or defects to the supervisor.

3. Machine Setup & Maintenance

• Perform daily machine checks (oil level, alignment, tooling condition).
• Install and adjust tooling dies, bending tools, and fixtures.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and machine.
• Report mechanical issues for preventive maintenance.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures while handling heavy copper busbars.
• Use proper PPE (gloves, shoes, goggles).
• Ensure machine guards and emergency stops are functional.
• Comply with company safety guidelines and ISO standards.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain production logs and job cards.
• Record bending parameters, batch numbers, and material usage.
• Communicate production status to supervisors and QC teams.
