Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Working for a multi national Construction Consultancy the Business Development role is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities for the construction consultancy firm. The role focuses on promoting the company’s project management, cost consultancy, and advisory services to clients across sectors such as real estate, infrastructure, and hospitality. This position requires a strategic mindset, networking capabilities, and deep understanding of the construction and consultancy market.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business leads across private and government sectors.
- Build and maintain a strong network with developers, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders in the construction industry.
- Promote the company’s services including project management, cost consultancy, contract administration, FM Services and feasibility studies.
- Contribute in preparation of proposals, EOIs, pre-qualification documents, and tender submissions.
- Attend industry events, exhibitions, and client meetings to represent the company.
- Track and report on business opportunities, market trends, and competitor activity.
- Maintain CRM systems and databases to track prospects and pipeline status.
- Support commercial negotiations and handover of acquired projects to operations team.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proposals align with project delivery capabilities
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in business development or sales, with first priority being in a construction consultancy, project management, or engineering firm, otherwise in a BD role within Contractors.
- At least 2 years of your BD experience should be in KSA.
- Strong understanding of construction consultancy services and local market dynamics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, CRM systems, and proposal documentation.
Desired Competencies:
- Proven ability to close deals and achieve business targets.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of procurement procedures and consultancy contract types (FIDIC, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with regional regulations and tendering practices is a plus.
