Lesson Planning, Teaching and Learning

• Planning for outstanding teaching and assessment in line with the schools Teaching & Learning and Assessment policies.
• Maintaining high standards in accordance with the school s Behaviour for Learning Policy and encouraging good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, uniform, standards of work and homework (home learning).
• Ensure scope and sequence, unit and lesson planning is up to date, accurate and in line with IB and school requirements.

Assessment, recording, reporting

• Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use them to improve specific aspects of teaching and learning.
• Mark students work regularly, set targets for progress, and moderate, in accordance with the school s Assessment (Marking & Feedback) policy.
• Assess and record students' progress systematically and keep records; using performance data to inform planning, teaching, intervention, student learning and progress;
• Prepare and present informative reports to parents in line with Report Writing Guidelines.

Professional duties and responsibilities

• Recognise the Spark of Genius in every child and endeavour to follow the Dwight vision, mission and pillars in every aspect of the role.
• For Upper School - to be an Advisor or Co-Advisor and teach Moral Education.
• For Upper School - the FireFly platform is kept up-to-date with planning and resources, as directed by the Head of Upper School.
• To be a DP Extended Essay Supervisor / MYP Personal Project Supervisor / PYP Exhibition Supervisor, if required.
• Undertake duties as part of the staff duty rota and cover for absent colleagues.
• Invigilate / proctor examinations and assessments, as required.
• Undertake relevant training and professional development related to the role.
• Support school events and activities, including the ECA programme.
• Actively collaborate in the Dwight and IB community, which includes developing strong partnerships with all stakeholders, and the local and wider community.
• Any other reasonable duties and additional hours of work as assigned by the Head of School or designated school leader.
