Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Procurement Business Process Teams develop and deploy procurement processes, systems, reporting and audits compliance. They drive continuous improvement throughout the procurement function, develop and maintain procurement systems, tools and databases such as vendor master files, e-procurement quotation tool, procurement web page, supplier portal, SharePoint and the like. They conduct regular external benchmarking to stay abreast of procurement best practices, run procurement reports and perform analysis to identify trends, opportunities, threats and needed course correction as well as lead facilitation of procurement training and development.
Your main tasks
Participate & implement regional procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges within the industry
Ensure that purchasing policy processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs, regarding price, quality and delivery targets, to optimize performance and productivity
Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, materials, and cost-saving opportunities.
Establish, Review and Manage contracts with suppliers and ensure favorable pricing and delivery terms while maintaining quality standards.
To manage and negotiate annual increases proposed by suppliers, ensuring that the proposed increase is market related.
Use appropriate resources (including Supplier Development) to ensure supplier partnerships and delivery of sourced products
Manage relationships with suppliers. Select and develop new suppliers
Build long-term relationships with vendors in the industry
Provide management reports, key performance data and monitor cost
Ensure parts are sourced in full and aligned to production schedules and customer requirements
Lead cross-functional project for localization and outsourcing
Lead and track annual cost saving project
Ensuring full TE compliance respect
Your ideal background
- Master s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field required**
Professional Experience
- 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, in direct procurement or related field
- Project management capabilities
- Value stream mapping
Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of the supply chain and value chain in the automotive industry
- Contract Negotiation**: Proven track record in negotiating contracts for direct goods and services in the automotive industry. Ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and quality to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Supplier Management**: Experience in managing supplier relationships in the automotive industry. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, evaluate supplier performance, and address non-performance issues.
- Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
