Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute buying plans for assigned product categories, ensuring alignment with overall business strategies and financial targets.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels, minimizing stockouts and overstock situations.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules, achieving the best possible cost of goods sold.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records, tracking product performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate product performance, providing insights and recommendations to optimize product assortment and maximize profitability.
- Work closely with the Buying/Commercial teams to develop and implement promotional plans, ensuring alignment with buying strategies.
- Prepare and present regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Conduct regular store visits and market research to stay informed about competitor activities, consumer preferences, and emerging trends.
- Manage the Open-to-Buy (OTB) budget, ensuring that purchases are within budget and aligned with financial goals.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve buying processes, enhance efficiency, and drive cost savings.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Ideally, has 3-5 years of experience in buying or planning within the FMCG industry.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of retail math, forecasting techniques, and inventory management principles.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools for analyzing sales data and market trends.
- Exhibits excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
- Shows strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying issues and developing effective solutions.
- Demonstrates a proactive and results-oriented approach, with a proven track record of achieving targets.
- Exhibits the ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Possesses strong organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrates a passion for the FMCG industry and a desire to contribute to the success of the business.
