Job Description

To provide high-quality, compassionate, person-centred care and support to individuals in residential, nursing, or home-care settings, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing while working under the guidance of a registered nurse or senior care staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence care.

• Support mobility and safe moving/handling using approved equipment.

• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring food/fluid intake.

• Observe and report changes in clients’ health or behaviour to the supervising nurse.

• Record vital signs (T, P, R, BP) under supervision.

• Provide companionship, emotional support, and social engagement.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential care records.

• Support household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment.

• Follow care plans, safeguarding procedures, and infection control standards.

• Uphold professionalism, respect, dignity, and person-centred care principles at all times.
