Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Set up, manage, and optimize Maqsam's Points of Presence (PoPs) and carrier interconnections across the region to ensure high availability and performance
- Provision and configure telecom resources including DID numbers, call routing, and coordinate Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC) setups for clients
- Monitor network performance and carrier interconnections, troubleshoot issues such as latency, packet loss, and service disruptions
- Ensure compliance with local telecom regulations and implement security measures to prevent unauthorized access and fraud
- Coordinate technical onboarding of new carriers and 3rd party providers, including validation, integration testing, and production deployment
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for infrastructure setups, interconnection protocols, and troubleshooting procedures
- Provide reporting and tracing activities for network operations and act as technical liaison between Maqsam and carrier partners
- Act as Level 3 technical support for connectivity and carriers related matters faced by our clients
Who We re Looking For
- Required:
- 3+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably in telecom or carrier environments
- Strong understanding and experience of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP), TCP/IP, and carrier interconnections
- Strong experience working in Unix-based environments (Linux and FreeBSD)
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools (Git, version control workflows)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation tasks
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible.
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies
- Understanding of telecom compliance requirements and security best practices
- Strong documentation skills and ability to create clear technical guides
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify and communicate complex technical concepts
- Collaborative attitude and strong communication skills to work with cross-functional teams
- Preferred:
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Oracle Cloud and others)
- Experience with on-premise infrastructure including colocation facilities and bare-metal server deployments
- Experience with observability and monitoring platforms (Prometheus, Grafana and Loki)
- Understanding of telecom fraud prevention and security measures
