Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive category plans that align with overall business objectives and financial targets.
- Analyze category performance data, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and procurement to optimize product assortments and ensure effective merchandising.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing and availability.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adapt category strategies as needed.
- Work with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns that drive consumer engagement and category growth.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock.
- Conduct regular reviews of category performance and adjust strategies to optimize sales and profitability.
- Train and mentor junior team members in category management best practices.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in category management or related roles within retail or e-commerce.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful category strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Excellent negotiation skills and a proven track record of managing supplier relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present insights and recommendations effectively.
- Knowledge of the grocery or FMCG industry is a plus.
