Roles & Responsibilities

Role Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior executive responsible for leading United Group’s financial strategy, ensuring strong financial management, supporting project profitability, improving cash flow, and building a financial system that supports UG’s growth in the pharma EPC and MEP contracting industry.
The CFO will manage all financial planning, budgeting, costing, reporting, corporate finance, banking, and audit functions.
He/She will act as a strategic partner to the President and VP to guide UG’s long-term business decisions.J
Job Requirements
 Key Responsibilities
 Financial Strategy & Leadership
Develop UG’s financial strategy, policies, and long-term financial plan.
Advise the President/VP on financial risks, opportunities, and strategic investments.
Lead financial due diligence for new projects, expansions, and partnerships.
 Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
Prepare annual budgets, project-specific budgets, and company-wide forecasts.
Implement cost control systems for MEP and EPC operations.
Monitor budget vs actual performance for each running project.
 Cash Flow & Treasury Management
Manage company cash flow, collections, and payables.
Improve cash conversion cycle, manage supplier payments, and control expenses.
Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and LC/LG issuance.
 Project Cost Control & Profitability
Implement project costing systems including:
Material cost tracking
Labor & subcontractor cost tracking
Equipment & overhead allocation
Ensure every project meets or exceeds profitability targets.
Approve major purchase orders and subcontract agreements financially.
 Financial Operations & Controls
Supervise all accounting functions:
AP/AR
Payroll
Tax
General ledger
Fixed assets
Establish internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Implement or upgrade accounting software / ERP (Odoo, SAP Business One, Zoho, etc.).
 Compliance, Tax, and Audit
Ensure compliance with Egyptian tax laws and regulations.
Manage internal & external audits.
Ensure proper documentation and financial transparency.
Corporate Finance & Growth Support
Support UG’s expansion plans including:
New pharma plants
International partnerships
Joint ventures
New branches (Engineering Hub in Europe)
Prepare financial models to evaluate investments and ROI.
 Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. MBA or CMA/CPA/ACCA is strongly preferred.
Experience
10–15 years minimum in finance, with at least:
5 years in EPC/MEP contracting, OR
Experience in construction, industrial, or pharma projects
Experience managing teams of accountants.
Proven success in:
Cash flow management
Project costing
Banking & financing
ERP systems
