Roles & Responsibilities

The Chargehand plays a vital role in supervising a small team of workers and ensuring that construction tasks are completed according to project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols. Reporting to the Foreman or Site Supervisor, the Chargehand assists in day-to-day site operations, oversees specific work areas or tasks, and ensures that workers have the necessary tools, materials, and instructions to carry out their duties efficiently. Chargehand acts as a link between workers and site management, ensuring that communication and workflow are maintained smoothly.


Job Specific Skills:


  • Supervise workers and ensure timely task completion.

  • Assign daily tasks and guide the team.

  • Coordinate work as per project plans.

  • Ensure quality standards and safety (HSE) compliance.

  • Manage materials, tools, and site resources.

  • Monitor progress and report issues or delays.

  • Maintain discipline and site order.

  • Act as a link between workers and management.

Resolve daily issues and support the Foreman/Supervisor.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 7 years of experience in construction, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role (e.g., Chargehand, Team Leader, Lead Hand).

  • Strong hands-on experience in piling works (bored / driven piles) and major concrete structures.

  • Proven ability to supervise teams and coordinate work in a construction environment.

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, tools, and materials.

  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the construction industry.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction plans and drawings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing teams and coordinating with site management.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
