Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Planning & Organization
Support smooth kitchen operations through effective planning, purchasing, and staffing.
Assist with daily requisitions and manage mise en place for your section.
Organize team tasks to ensure timely and efficient service
Kitchen Operations
Lead by example motivate, train, and supervise junior chefs.
Run kitchen sections independently in the absence of a senior chef.
Maintain food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards at all times.
Execute menu items and specials following recipes, costing, and presentation guidelines.
Ensure FIFO, cleanliness, and proper food handling in line with HACCP and hotel policies.
Communication & Teamwork
Conduct kitchen briefings and liaise effectively with chefs, F&B team, and other departments.
Maintain clear communication and a positive work environment.
Flexibility & Cross-Training
Support other kitchen areas as needed.
Take part in cross-training and support daily operations including staff scheduling and task delegation.
Administration
Ensure team attendance, complete necessary paperwork, and manage food transfers and recipe logs.
Attend meetings and respond to emergencies professionally and promptly.
Desired Candidate Profile
1. Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in a high volume, quality driven hotel or restaurant kitchen.
2.Strong culinary knowledge across various cuisines, including preparation, presentation, and portion control.
3.Ability to work independently and lead a section, maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.
4.A mentor and team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for developing others.
5.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to perform under pressure.
6.Solid understanding of food safety, HACCP procedures, and local municipality regulations.
7.Flexibility to adapt to operational demands, cross-train across sections, and support the overall success of the kitchen team.
