Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title:

Chemist

Funcon:

- To perform roune tests allocated to this department.

- To conduct research, analysis, synthesis, chemical and specified physical tesng and

experimentaon on construcon materials and related substances for such purposes.

- To perform day to day tests in the Chemistry Department and associated operaons in an

effecve and efficient manner. Further, to carry the allocated tesng, surveillance and

operaons acvies in accordance with specified requirements.

Dues and Responsibilies:

- Maintains a dy workplace in the Chemistry Department.

- Maintains and updates a list of inventories of the equipment of the Chemistry Department and

maintains the good working condions and adequate space allocaon for this equipment

- Conducts tests on physical properes of asphalt, cement and asphalt mixes.

- Conducts chemical tesng on cement, aggregate, soil, concrete, water, oils and related

substances as well as other materials suitable for tesng.

- Conducts tests on concrete and cement durability.

- Signs and reviews test reports.

- Maintains the equipment allocated to the Chemistry Department.

- Develops, improves, and customizes products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analycal

methods.

- Compiles and analyzes test informaon to determine process or equipment operang

efficiency and to diagnose malfuncons.

- Confers with engineers to conduct analyses of research projects, interpret test results, or

develop nonstandard tests.

- Other dues as assigned.

Educaon and Experience:

- BS in chemistry or equivalent program cerficate with minimum two years related experience

and or training; Good knowledge of ISO 9001 standards requirements and / or of the Quality

Management system adopted in the company; or equivalent combinaon of educaon and

experience.
