Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with local regulations and accounting standards.
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, to maintain efficient financial processes.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly to uphold financial integrity.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the reliability of financial reporting.
- Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to align financial goals with company objectives.
- Prepare detailed analyses of financial performance and variance reports to provide strategic insights to senior management.
- Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, facilitating smooth audit processes and ensuring timely completion of audits.
- Implement and maintain accounting software systems, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the organization and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Stay updated on emerging accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and improve financial processes.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional development and knowledge sharing.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred for advanced knowledge.
- Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are essential for credibility.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment or a relevant industry.
- Experience within specific industries, such as manufacturing, finance, or technology, offers a competitive edge in understanding sector nuances.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills to streamline financial tasks and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage and develop a team while fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, showcasing strong time management and organizational skills.
- Language proficiency in English is required; additional languages may be advantageous in global organizations.
