Roles & Responsibilities

Deep understanding of electrical safety standards (ATEX, IEC, NEC, API RP 500/505).

Skilled in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems on draw works, mud pumps, power generation systems, HVAC, lighting systems, and rig instrumentation.

Ability to interpret complex electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical manuals.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications:

Technical Certification or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution (Bachelor s degree preferred).
Valid CompEx, IECEx CoPC, or equivalent certification for electrical work in hazardous (Zone 1 & 2) areas.
Valid Electrician License in accordance with international or national standards.

Experience:

Minimum 10 years of hands-on electrical experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 5 years in a senior electrical position on offshore or onshore drilling rigs.
Proven experience with cyber drilling rigs (AC-powered), including top drives, SCR/AC drive systems, VFDs, rig power management systems, and automated control systems.
Experience with rig move preparations, commissioning, and shutdown/start-up procedures.

Safety & Compliance:

Comprehensive knowledge of electrical isolation procedures, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) systems, and PTW (Permit to Work) systems.
Strong background in HSE compliance, with valid certifications in BOSIET, H2S, First Aid, Fire Fighting, and Electrical Safety.
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining zero electrical incidents and supporting a safety-first culture.

Leadership & Communication:

Proven ability to lead and train a team of electricians and E&I technicians.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to produce detailed reports, maintenance logs, and electrical incident investigations.
