Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments, HACCP, and all related compliance documentation in line with organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and HSE standards. Lead, recruit, train, supervise, and develop Cleaning and Sanitization teams, ensuring staff are competent, motivated, and aligned with operational expectations.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide structured feedback, implement training programs, and manage disciplinary actions in coordination with Human Resources policy.
Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitization are consistently maintained across all operational areas. Plan and execute routine inspections, audits, and quality checks; identify non-conformances, investigate root causes, implement corrective and preventive actions, and ensure proper documentation and reporting to management.
Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), hygiene, and security policies, including correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe handling of chemicals in accordance with supplier instructions. Monitor operational readiness across all sections, proactively identifying gaps and directing section supervisors to implement immediate solutions to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Manage inventory levels of cleaning chemicals, consumables, and equipment to optimize stock levels, minimize waste, and control costs. Coordinate maintenance, servicing, and repairs of cleaning equipment to ensure all tools and machinery are in safe and effective working condition. Develop and monitor departmental KPIs and budgets, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings, process optimization, and efficiency improvements.
Identify and implement process improvements, technology and automation enhancements, and new equipment or procedures to improve operational performance and service quality. Develop and implement contingency and emergency response plans for incidents such as chemical spills, pest outbreaks, or other unforeseen operational disruptions.
Foster positive and professional relationships with all stakeholders by addressing concerns promptly and implementing feedback mechanisms to support continuous improvement.
Ensure all communications, reports, and requested information are prepared accurately and submitted within stipulated timelines.
Control and monitor waste management processes within the facility, ensuring proper segregation, disposal, recycling, and compliance with environmental regulations. Conduct tendering evaluations for chemicals, disposables, machinery, and other operational resources, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and supplier compliance.
Plan and optimize workforce resourcing, ensuring effective deployment of staff to meet operational needs, maximize productivity, and minimize downtime
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in Cleaning and Sanitization within airline catering Industry or catering services.
Thorough understanding of the applications and use of the various cleaning chemicals used within the operation. Lean Six sigma certification is a plus.
Good standard of both written and spoken English (Arabic/ Hindi) beneficial. Organization skills: ability to plan own workload, keep pace with it and achieve priorities.
