Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Conduct initial monitoring and analysis of child protection trends and risks across UNRWA fields of operation and prepare a baseline analytical brief with key recommendations.
2. Support the review and mapping of existing Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) approaches and identify gaps in alignment with interagency guidance and the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS).
3. Prepare concept notes, technical inputs, and briefing materials to support child protection and safeguarding priorities across programmes and emergency response interventions.
4.Support the development and review of child protection frameworks, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
5. Contribute to the strengthening and documentation of referral pathways, accountability mechanisms, and child safeguarding tools across programme areas.
6. Develop awareness-raising and training materials on child protection and child safeguarding tailored to programme and operational needs.
7. Support the organization and facilitation of child protection and safeguarding workshops, trainings, and capacity-building initiatives for personnel and relevant stakeholders.
8. Conduct analysis on emerging child protection trends and risks and contribute to updated recommendations for evidence-based programming.
9. Document good practices, lessons learned, and key findings from child protection and safeguarding initiatives to support policy and programme development.
10. Support the integration and operationalization of CPiE approaches and safeguarding measures within ongoing programmes and emergency response activities.
11. Provide consolidated support including preparation of final documentation, progress summaries, and strategic inputs related to child protection and safeguarding activities.
12. Provide flexible support across various team priorities related to child protection, safeguarding, and broader Protection Division plans and strategies.
Desired Candidate Profile
A bachelor university degree from an accredited educational institution in social work, psychology, child protection, education or a related field.
At least 6 years of experience in Education, child protection, social services, or related areas.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Excellent knowledge in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Previous experience working with children in vulnerable contexts or in humanitarian settings will be considered a strong asset.
