The key objectives for this role are:

• To accurately and effectively translate documents and provide linguistic support for projects, while also managing translation workflows and ensuring quality and timely delivery. Key responsibilities include translating technical, legal, or marketing materials, proofreading and editing, maintaining terminology databases, collaborating with clients and team members, and adapting content to be culturally and contextually appropriate for the target audience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Convert written content from English to Chinese and vice versa, including various materials like legal documents, technical manuals, and marketing content
• Proofread and edit translations for spelling, grammar, and stylistic consistency. Ensure the final translation accurately conveys the meaning of the source text
• Research industry-specific terminology and concepts to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of the translation
• Work with project managers, clients, and content creators to understand project requirements and clarify ambiguous content
• Keep track of deadlines and manage multiple translation projects simultaneously to ensure timely completion
• Use and maintain glossaries and translation memory to ensure consistent terminology and style across projects
• May provide real-time interpretation during meetings or conference calls, depending on the role
• Help bridge communication gaps by ensuring cultural nuances are properly understood and conveyed
• Utilize Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools and other software to improve efficiency and manage projects
