Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Prepare and revise civil & structural drawings for substation facilities during the construction phase.
Develop detailed drawings for: Transformer foundations, Equipment foundations (GIS/AIS equipment), Cable trenches & duct banks, Control room buildings, Switchgear buildings, Oil containment pits & bund walls, Underground utilities & drainage systems, Grading & paving within substation areas
Incorporate site changes and issue updated drawings based on field modifications and redline markups.
Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, electrical, and other disciplines to resolve technical queries (RFIs).
Review contractor shop drawings and as-built drawings related to substation civil works.
Provide technical support to field engineering teams during installation and construction activities.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, client standards, and applicable codes (ACI, BS, Eurocodes, IEC interface requirements, etc.).
Assist in preparation of material take-offs (MTO) and quantity calculations for substation civil works.
Participate in site visits to verify implementation and resolve site issues.
Maintain proper document control and drawing revision records.
Desired Candidate Profile
Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in oil & gas projects with mandatory substation experience.
Proven experience supporting construction-phase substation projects within EPC environments.
Strong knowledge of substation civil infrastructure including foundations, cable trenches, drainage, and structural supports.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
Experience with SP3D / MicroStation / Civil 3D is an advantage.
Good working knowledge of: Reinforced concrete & structural steel detailing, Heavy equipment foundation design, Underground utilities & drainage systems, Grading & paving layouts within substation compounds
Familiarity with applicable international codes and client standards.
Good communication skills in English.
Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams (Electrical, Structural, QA/QC, Construction).
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines.
Previous experience on ADNOC or Middle East oil & gas substation projects (Preferred)
Experience handling site queries, redline markups, and as-built documentation during construction (Preferred)
