Job Description

A Civil Estimation Engineer plays a pivotal role in the construction industry by efficiently preparing cost estimates for various civil engineering projects. This professional is responsible for analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to create precise budget forecasts that will guide decision-making. They work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to understand all project requirements and variables affecting costs, enabling them to offer competitive bids and effectively manage project budgets. Civil Estimation Engineers possess a deep understanding of construction materials, labor costs, and industry standards. Their expertise ensures the financial feasibility and profitability of projects, making them essential to successful civil engineering projects.


Responsibilities
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to gather necessary project information.
  • Calculate material quantities, labor requirements, and duration for each project.
  • Evaluate historical data and current market trends to ensure accurate cost projections.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid proposals with competitive and precise cost estimates.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality.
  • Review and adjust estimates based on changes in project scope and materials availability.
  • Present and explain estimation findings to management and project stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain a database of historical costs and estimation best practices.
  • Ensure consistent application of estimation techniques and adherence to industry standards.
  • Support procurement processes by providing detailed cost estimates for materials and services.
  • Assist in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize project budgets.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in construction project estimation and cost analysis preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills to generate accurate budgets.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey estimation findings to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
