Roles & Responsibilities

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil Inspector to join our team! In this role you will get to performs continuous surveillance of assigned inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Conduct tests to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications and may include any of the following: Performs civil and structural tests, such as soil compaction, moisture content, aggregation, graduation, concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compression, lines and grades surveys, bolt torques, and concrete coring.

  • Perform destructive and nondestructive tests on metals and other materials through magnaflex, dyepenetrant, radiographic, tension and compression, paint thickness, and resistivity.

  • Perform surveillance of underground piping to ensure tightness, bedding, and grade.

  • Inspect and monitors piling installation to ensure location and bearing.

  • Validate piping systems, including P&ID checks and hydraulic or other pressure tests.

  • Inspect electrical installations to ensure proper grounding, circuit integrity, and adherence to statutory and customer regulations.

  • Perform continuing inspection of painting and insulation to ensure thickness and coverage continuity.

  • Provide general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.

  • Verify equipment alignment and balancing operations. Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures

  • Participate in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports.

Desired Candidate Profile

span> span> span> span>Diploma or associate degree/span> /span> /span> /span> in Civil Engineering.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in construction, with experience in one or more of the following project types: roads, bridges, drainage, utilities, or irrigation.
  • Strong analytic capabilities and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with contractors, inspectors, and engineers.

  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations on construction sites.
