The Role

The successful candidate will be a skilled classroom practitioner who contributes meaningfully to both student learning and school culture. They will design learning experiences that celebrate student individuality, challenge thinking, and develop essential competencies for success in an ever-changing world.

Our Primary School has been developed with a commitment to our educational values. One such value is that the relationship between a teacher, the students in their class and the families of those children is critical to the successful delivery of effective learning. With this in mind, we operate using a 'cycle approach' where teachers move through year groups with the children at key transition points. Our cycles are FS2 into Y1 (Cycle 1), Y2 into Y3 (Cycle 2) and Y4 through to Y6 (Cycle 3). Teachers employed at DBSJ should be prepared, competent and, suitably experienced in teaching all year groups in a given cycle that they are hired into.

We are looking for a cycle 3 teacher and invite applications from teachers that feel that they could competently deliver an exceptional learning experience for learners in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.

Candidate Profile

Essential

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, BEd or equivalent)
• A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a relevant setting
• Evidence of strong teaching practice and student progress
• Alignment with DBSJ s ethos and commitment to professional reflection and growth
• Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular and whole-school initiatives
• Understanding of data-informed teaching and inclusive strategies
