Roles & Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Economic Affairs Officer and the overall guidance of the Cluster Lead of the Climate Change and Natural Resources Sustainability Cluster, the consultant would be responsible to:

  • Programmatically and substantively support the organization of meetings, workshops and events related to sand and dust storms, green finance taxonomies, and climate change assessment, including the drafting of information notes and the preparation of presentations, contact lists and meeting-related materials.
  • Prepare inputs to existing and planned online platforms to support the conduct of and dissemination of information related to the noted meetings and workshops, including e-training tools, in English and Arabic and in coordination with internal counterparts.
  • Contribute to the drafting, review, finalization and dissemination of technical materials that inform climate change policymaking and the mobilization of climate finance in the Arab region.
  • Prepare meeting reports that reflect the discussions and interventions of participants, and summarize outcomes and next steps, in English and Arabic.
  • Contribute to other ad hoc deliverables related to climate change, as may be needed.

Desired Candidate Profile

A master s degree in climate change, engineering or environmental science is required. A minimum of five years of experience working on climate change, natural resources management, environment or related fields is required. Demonstrated professional experience working on climate change and sand and dust storms in the Arab region is required.
