Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Clinical & Field Supervision
Supervise students in approved hospitals, primary healthcare centers, industrial sites, emergency units, community agencies, and partner institutions.
Assign responsibilities based on students competency levels.
Ensure safe, ethical, and culturally sensitive professional practice.
Guide students in applying theoretical knowledge to real-world professional settings.
Monitor compliance with professional standards, documentation accuracy, and regulatory requirements relevant to the specialty.
Validate clinical/field logbooks, case records, risk assessments, and procedural documentation.
Identify students requiring remediation and develop structured improvement plans.
Conduct supervised practical teaching sessions appropriate to the specialty (e.g., patient care, emergency response, occupational risk assessment, safety inspections, clinical examinations).
Lead daily pre-conference and post-conference sessions to promote reflection and clinical reasoning.
Complete weekly performance reports and formal mid-term/final evaluations.
Liaise with site supervisors, ward managers, safety officers, EMS supervisors, and interdisciplinary teams.
Ensure adherence to patient/client confidentiality and professional ethics in line with Omani cultural and Islamic values.
2. Industrial & Community Field Training
Supervise students in industrial workplaces, public health settings, and community-based organizations.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Evaluate students field reports, audits, and professional documentation.
Ensure students adhere to workplace safety protocols and professional conduct standards.
Coordinate with regulatory and industry representatives to ensure quality field training.
Ensure all field activities align with course learning outcomes and institutional standards.
3. Laboratory Skills & Simulation
Plan and conduct laboratory and simulation sessions aligned with course specifications.
Demonstrate procedures following evidence-based practice and relevant regulatory standards.
Supervise return demonstrations and verify competency achievement.
Facilitate low- and high-fidelity simulation sessions.
Conduct structured pre-briefing and debriefing sessions.
Assess students through OSCEs and competency checklists.
Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) standards.
Maintain laboratory equipment and coordinate with lab assistants.
Monitor inventory and report equipment or supply needs.
Provide constructive and timely feedback.
Provide one-on-one coaching for students requiring additional support.
4. Academic & Institutional Responsibilities
Ensure all educational activities comply with course specifications and accreditation standards.
Participate in faculty meetings and academic committees.
Contribute to curriculum review and program development activities.
Maintain accurate student assessment records.
Support institutional quality assurance initiatives.
5. Professional Development
Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Maintain current professional certifications and competencies relevant to the specialty.
Stay updated with national guidelines issued by:
o Ministry of Health
o Occupational Safety Authorities
o Civil Defense
o Other relevant regulatory bodies
Engage in accreditation and institutional audit activities.
6. Risk, Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure students strictly adhere to IPC standards and proper PPE usage.
Monitor compliance with emergency response and workplace safety regulations.
Orient students to field-site safety policies before placement.
Report and document incidents, near-misses, and safety violations.
Promote ethical practice and culturally sensitive care across all practice environments
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in the relevant Health Sciences specialty (Required)
Master s degree in health education or relevant specialty field (Preferred)
Minimum 5 8 years of professional practice experience in the relevant specialty
Valid professional license (if applicable to the specialty)
Teaching or preceptorship experience (Preferred)
Specific program requirements may apply according to national regulatory authorities
