Roles & Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, supervise, and support all frontline team members (reception, barista, trainers, maintenance, and service staff).
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, who supports operational functions without direct staff supervision.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performance work culture aligned with the club s values.
  • Staff Onboarding, Training & Development
  • Recruit and onboard new team members effectively along with the HR.
  • Conduct regular training, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure service quality and staff growth.
  • Sales & Membership Growth
  • Lead membership sales strategies, outreach efforts, and upselling of services (PT, group classes, wellness packages).
  • Monitor conversion rates, sales KPIs, and campaign effectiveness to drive steady growth.
  • Member Management & Retention
  • Oversee the entire membership lifecycle: onboarding, renewals, cancellations, and freezes.
  • Implement retention strategies and engage with inactive or at-risk members to build loyalty.
  • Customer Service Excellence
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality service at all touchpoints.
  • Handle member feedback and complaints with professionalism and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Operational Oversight
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue, member engagement, and team productivity.
  • Ensure daily operations align with the club s business goals and service standards.
  • Health, Safety & Cleanliness
  • Enforce strict adherence to cleanliness and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and ensure emergency procedures are known and followed by all staff.
  • Scheduling & Roster Management
  • Prepare weekly schedules for frontline staff and fitness trainers, ensuring optimal coverage and fair shift distribution.
  • Manage time-off requests and resolve scheduling conflicts efficiently.
  • Facility Management
  • Oversee the condition and functionality of all gym areas and amenities.
  • Conduct routine inspections and coordinate timely repairs and improvements with the Operations Manager.
  • Compliance & Licensing
  • Ensure all operational licenses, insurance, and health & safety certifications are up to date and compliant with local regulations.
  • Reporting & Strategic Communication
  • Provide regular reports to ownership on club performance, feedback, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and ownership on short- and long-term strategic plans.
  • Asset & Equipment Management
  • Ensure the proper use, maintenance, and availability of all gym equipment and assets.
  • Oversee inventory and coordinate with the Operations Manager for restocking and lifecycle planning.

Required Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills
  • Solid understanding of fitness club operations, KPIs, and cost control
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication abilities
  • Sales acumen with a strategic, growth-oriented mindset
  • Ability to manage pressure and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Familiarity with fitness, wellness, and service-driven environments (industry experience is a plus)
  • Internal transparency while dealing with the management department
  • Problem solving mindset
