Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead the engineering function across multiple Gewan properties in the UAE driving asset reliability, life-safety compliance, preventive maintenance, energy efficiency, CAPEX planning, and project execution while supporting smooth hotel operations and guest comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering operations across the assigned hotels, ensuring all properties are maintained to brand and safety standards.
- Oversee PPM planning and execution for MEP, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, kitchen, laundry, pool, and life-safety systems.
- Manage engineering teams, supervisors, and technicians across properties; set priorities, coach performance, and strengthen technical capability.
- Ensure compliance with statutory inspections, municipality requirements, fire & life safety standards, and permit-to-work procedures.
- Monitor utilities and energy performance; drive cost-saving and sustainability initiatives without compromising guest comfort.
- Prepare and control engineering budgets, including repairs & maintenance, service contracts, and CAPEX.
- Lead contractor management, quotations, technical evaluations, and project follow-up for renovations and major repairs.
- Maintain accurate documentation, logs, asset registers, maintenance records, and audit files.
- Support hotel leadership with technical advice, risk mitigation, and engineering action plans.
- Respond to emergency situations and major breakdowns, ensuring prompt resolution and clear communication.
Desired Candidate Profile
7+ years engineering leadership experience in hotels, with multi-property or cluster exposure preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, MEP systems, BMS, kitchen/laundry equipment, and fire & life safety systems.
- Proven experience in hotel preventive maintenance planning, contractor management, and CAPEX execution.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing engineering budgets and utility-saving initiatives.
- Ability to lead multiple teams and properties while maintaining strong follow-up and discipline.
- Proficiency in CMMS, MS Office, and engineering reporting systems.
- Excellent command of English.
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
