Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Maximize profitability and performance of Managed Hotels or cluster of hotels in scope
Partner with Central Corporate Functions to identify areas of opportunity, to increase revenues or reduce costs across the estates
Lead commercial financial analysis, monthly forecasts reviews and meetings, annual budget, cash flow analysis and other financial benchmarking and tools
Partner with General Managers, hotel management teams to identify opportunities for the hotels (cost savings; revenue initiatives; working capital improvements)
Serve as a strategic business partner and financial advisor to hotel management and ownership, lead monthly performance review meetings
Assist and advise team heads in the interpretation and analysis of financial data, recommending courses of action to maximize hotel profitability
Demonstrate full understanding of Lease / Management Agreements and related implications for hotels in scope for the role
Provide financial oversight of capital expenditure projects as necessary
Build competence with relevant Team Members through training, best practice sharing, recognition and rewards, and other professional development opportunities
Ensure hotels are in compliance with Corporate Policies (SPI s) and governmental rules and regulations and report irregularities and non-compliant situations as required by corporate guidelines
Ensure that the best interest of the hotels, Hilton International and owners are protected and seek advice from the Regional Director of Finance if and when needed
Provide direction and directives to the departmental team members in the performance of their duties for establishing work priorities and in achieving management objectives
Oversee and evaluate business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the department
Ability to deliver presentations and effectively present to hotel team, owners and Regional team
Participate in and lead finance projects as and when required
Perform other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned or required
Ensure month-end reporting to owner and Hilton is completed within the deadlines
Desired Candidate Profile
Preferably with 7 years of relevant and progressive accounting or finance experience; preferably in hospitality industry
- 4 years of experience in a managerial role would be an asset
- Strategic thinker with the ability to formulate effective goals, objectives and priorities with a long term perspective
- Strong communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers)
- Financial and operational analytical skills (operational analysis)
- Knowledge of departmental and hotel operations
- Ability to exercise judgment in evaluating situations and in making sound decisions
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data Leadership and organizational skills (team orientation, flexible, adaptable)
- Ability to analyze large volume of complex financial information from many sources and create reports, forecasts projections
- Proficiency in MS Office suite applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
Additional Preferences:
- Bachelors degree holder; preferably in Accounting or Finance
- Holds Accounting certification ideally Egyptian Society of Auditors & Accountants - (ESAA), would be an asset
