Job Description

A CNC Machinist plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by creating precise parts and components from raw materials through the operation of computer numerical control (CNC) machines. This role requires a deep understanding of CNC technology, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of materials. CNC Machinists must interpret technical blueprints and plans to produce parts that meet strict specifications, ensuring that the end products are of high quality and suitable for their intended purpose. The role requires both technical skill and creative problem-solving ability, as machinists often need to troubleshoot and tweak programs to achieve the desired outcome. Working in collaboration with engineers and production crews, CNC Machinists contribute significantly to the efficient functioning of manufacturing operations, ultimately impacting the quality and success of the finished products.


Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks accurately.
  • Interpret and analyze engineering drawings and technical blueprints effectively.
  • Select appropriate tools, attachments, and devices for each machining process.
  • Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to improve performance.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure conformity of parts to specifications.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on CNC machines as needed.
  • Document processes and maintain records of production output and material usage.
  • Collaborate with engineers and programmers to optimize machining processes.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and apply corrective measures when required.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior machinists and apprentices.
  • Continuously improve skill set through training and staying updated with industry trends.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or a similar role in manufacturing.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical documents and drawings.
  • In-depth knowledge of CNC machines, and understanding of machining operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality components.
  • Familiarity with safety and quality standards in manufacturing environments.
  • Solid computer skills and familiarity with CAD/CAM software applications.
  • Ability to lift heavy machinery components and stand for long periods.
