Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Inspect surface preparation, painting, coating, and insulation activities for piping and pipelines.

  2. Review and approve painting, coating, wrapping, and insulation procedures.

  3. Monitor surface profile, cleanliness, and chloride contamination tests.

  4. Ensure paint/coating materials are from approved manufacturers and applied within valid pot life.

  5. Verify application as per manufacturer’s technical data sheets and approved specifications.

  6. Monitor DFT measurements, holiday detection, pinhole testing, and curing processes.

  7. Inspect coating systems including 3LPE, CTE, heat shrink sleeves, neoprene coating, and wrapping systems.

  8. Witness post-curing tests such as adhesion, hardness, spark, sound, visual, and dimensional checks.

  9. Raise NCRs and verify corrective actions.

  10. Maintain inspection records and prepare inspection reports.

  11. Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ISO, ASTM, BS, and project specifications.

  12. Coordinate with client, contractor, and project stakeholders.

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Strong technical knowledge of coating, painting, and insulation inspection.

  2. Hands-on experience in Oil & Gas pipeline and piping projects.

  3. Familiar with international coating systems and testing methods.

  4. Quality- and safety-oriented with good documentation skills.


Experience
Diploma (3 years): Minimum 12 years QA/QC experience in Coating, Painting & Insulation

  1. Bachelor’s Degree (4 years): Minimum 10 years QA/QC experience

  2. Oil & Gas experience:

    • Diploma: Minimum 8 years

    • Bachelor’s: Minimum 6 years


Qualifications & Certifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • BGAS Level 2 or NACE Level 2 certification

  • Experience with 3LPE coating systems (mandatory for pipeline projects)

  • H2S & Site Safety / HSE Training
