To operate, inspect and test production line machinery, adjust controls to regulate operations when starting and stopping machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency.

To detect problems and to diagnose machine malfunctions.

To make adjustments as necessary to produce product within specifications.

To remove all non-conforming products for further investigations actions.

To perform routine maintenance and preventive maintenance on production line machinery by dismantling machines, removing parts for repair and reassembling machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work or advise supervisors of repair needs.

To clean and maintain work area: clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, appropriate cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment.

To install, perform equipment change-overs, replace, or change machine parts and attachments according to production specifications (from present size to the requested size).

To collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts or equipment and communicate necessary information to operators from other shifts.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the minimum conditions of safety, health and hygiene and ability to respect these conditions.
• Knowledge of machinery and equipment maintenance.
• Post-secondary and/or technical school education.
• Experience in machine operation.
• Experience working with hand tools and hand finishing techniques.
• Experience in an industrial environment.
